Having gotten that out of the way. The appointment in the evening was perfect. It was just me and Anne, my friend, and the lady who owned the store. I assume she owned the store, she seemed like it, anyway. The woman grabbed a catalog, had me point to the dresses I liked, she wrote down their numbers, grabbed them and others that looked similar, and then we were off!
First was this one:
The back was really itchy on this one:
I wasn't a HUGE fan of the halter top, but that's because my shoulders are too big for it.
This one was pretty, but I think I wasn't a fan of the modified sweetheart neckline
This one was just plain awful - the colored ribbon falls ACROSS the bust, instead of under it, and it was too lacy. Yuck.

Too lacy, and the store model, like this one, had white as the color accent. Blah. And I don't look good in white, ivory is better for my pasty skin.

This one was really pretty, I think it was one of the first ones I tried on.

And my favorite. I wouldn't get it in red, it's a little too much. The burnt orange looks really nice on it, though.
In that last dress, the one I really like, she had me sit down, to see how that felt. There was no way I could bend at the waist, so I had REALLY good posture. She had me bend over, nothing bad happened, and had me walk down the "aisle" along the wall of mirrors, so I could see how my guests would see me. Quite lovely, I must say.
So I made an appointment at 10 tomorrow morning to try the four I liked the best on again. Aaron is coming with me so I can get his opinion on them. I know that's not traditional for the groom to be to see the dress, but we're not very traditional people, so it's okay with me. I'd like his input.
She wouldn't let us take pictures, which is fine - I still need to lose some weight before I want to have my bare back and shoulders in a picture, but I had fun! What more can you ask??
